FAQ

Q. I WANT TO CHECK AVAILABILITY, HOW DO I DO THIS?

A. Use the “book now” button on our home page and enter the dates you want to check, you will then be shown how many pitches are still available.

Q. HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING AT WYSE HOUSE?

A. Please use the “Book now!” button on our home page. We are often busy on the farm and not always able to take your call so please book online.

Q. WHAT TIME CAN WE ARRIVE? WHAT TIME DO WE NEED TO CHECK OUT?

A. Please do not arrive before 1pm and check out before 11am. Sorry, but we do not offer late check-outs.

Q. DO YOU ALLOW DOGS?

A. Yes we have some lovely walks along the River Derwent but dogs are limited to two per pitch and must be kept on a lead on the site itself.

Q. HOW DO I PAY THE BALANCE FOR MY BOOKING?

A. When you book you have the option to pay in full or 50%. Any balance if due will be payable on arrival. We take cards or cash onsite but cannot process card payments over the phone.

Q. IS THE CAMPSITE CHILD FRIENDLY?

A. Yes we have a small playground onsite in the second paddock (nearest pitches 21/22 and 12) then a walk round the farm along the River Derwent taking 30 mins). Children must be supervised at all times and are not allowed in the farm yard.

Q. DO YOU HAVE ANY GLAMPING ACCOMMODATION?

A. We have one Cabin which can sleep a family of up to 4 children (on bunk beds) and up to two adults on a futon. You will still need to bring bedding, towels and cooking equipment as if camping just minus the tent. The Cabin has a covered porch and table for your stove, a heater, socket, lights and mattresses on the beds (a travel cot is also available please advise in the notes on booking that this is needed.

There’s also our small Shepherds Hut! It will accommodate 2 adults (sorry like the Cabin sadly no dogs). It is well insulated and has a wood-burning stove for heating (the first night of logs is supplied) and a kettle. There is a double bed, a small wardrobe, two outdoor chairs and a selection of cups plates and cutlery. A package of 2 towels, a duvet/pillow is available for £5 a night extra. In high season an outdoor kitchen area is set up for both the Cabin and Hut.

Q. I HAVE A SIX BERTH TENT. WHAT PITCH SHOULD I CHOOSE?

A. A medium tent is defined as 4 berth and under, a large is 6 berth plus. Please enter your details correctly when booking as you will be allocated a pitch based on your tent size. If you book for a medium tent but when you arrive clearly have a large tent there may not be a large pitch available. We are a small business and rely on people being honest about tent sizes and number of people in your group!

Q. WE WANT TO BOOK A PITCH NEXT TO OUR FRIENDS/FAMILY AND BOOK MORE THAN ONE PITCH.

A. Each pitch has to be booked separately. When you put in the dates required the drop down menu will show which numbered pitches are still available. Use the map to select which two are nearest each other, we are so small no two pitches are far apart but 2-11 are in the first paddock (near the facilities) 12 to 22 are in the second [paddock (looking up to the Wolds and nearer the playground).

Q. DO YOU ALLOW BBQ’S AND FIRES?

A. Yes as long as these are off the ground.

Q. DO YOU HAVE HARD STANDING PITCHES?

A. Yes when using the book now button you will be able to select whether you want hard/soft standing.

Q. I HAVE A BOOKING WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS BUT THE FORECAST IS TERRIBLE. CAN I CHANGE THE BOOKING?

A. Sorry but this would be classed as a cancellation and no refund would be offered.

Q. DO YOU TAKE WHOLE SITE BOOKINGS?

A. We can accommodate groups and have a school who have an annual camping trip to the site, please contact us via e-mail with details.

Q. DO YOU HAVE LEVEL ACCESS TO THE FACILITIES?

A. Yes there are no steps up to the washrooms and we have a one room with toilet and shower facilities that are wheelchair friendly.
